Friesian stallion Tjalf in South Africa
„Tjalf 443“ came from Holland to South Africa in 2009. Back home in the Netherlands he won as many championship titles – as an action trotter – as anyone could hope for. Whenever he appeared in the show ring, Friesian fans leaped to their feet and applauded enthusiastically, impressed by his phenomenal gait. In his new homeland of South Africa he has pursued a career as a sire. With the famous sire „Heinse 354“ in his bloodline, Marlise Botes from the Doorndraai Stud expected agile and true-to-type Friesian foals – and she wasn‘t disappointed. „Tjalf’s“ offspring are very successful in South Africa, too. But what makes this stallion so special is his very good nature, his unbelievably pleasant and people oriented character. He is incredibly easy to handle as a stallion and a cooperative model for photos; he plays along with any situation and is always happy to pose.
